Teardown: Cold rooms

When you think of Finland you think of saunas, drunks, a sucky hockey team, knife-fights, Impaled Nazarene, beer, midget porn, Beherit (kidding) and my little sister Statik Majik. That sums it up. It’s Finland in a nutshell. What you don’t think of is the possibility of a really good female fronted band. No, Nightwish naturally doesn’t fucken count for shit.
Teardown’s got a hella lot of potential despite the flaws on this demo. At times it’s so untight I wanna nail my cock to the livingroom floor. This is most evident in the drumming department. But if you can bare with that, you are in for a nifty little treat with these 4 tracks of moody, rockish semi-metal. I sure as fuck can bare with it as Teardown’s got shitloads of nice hooks, violins, piano’s and a nice voice in Finnish cumbucket no.2, Katja.
I have gone thru this tape a dozen times over the last few days. That, if anything, is a good sign Teardown’s got something I take a liking in. I’m even going as far as downloading their 2004 demo after I’m done with this review.
No, it sounds nothing like Evanescence. No, Katja doesn’t resemble Amy Lee. No, I haven’t slept with her. Seriously, I haven’t.
I don’t need to rant away much more than what I already have. You should understand that this is definitely worth checking out if you are into pussy-music. Fuck knows I am. Good work, Teardown.
